AUSTIN, TEXAS – March 25, 2009 – Aspyr Media and Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) have teamed once again to rock the computer gaming world with the announcement of Guitar Hero® World Tour for Windows PC and Mac. Transforming music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero’s® signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience, Guitar Hero World Tour for PC and Mac offers state-of-the-art wireless controllers to computer gamers for the first time, new online and offline gameplay modes and a Music Studio feature for composing and editing original rock and roll anthems. Guitar Hero World Tour is the most complete music game to-date with 86 on-disc tracks from music legends such as The Eagles, Van Halen, Metallica, Michael Jackson and The Doors and features in-game appearances by world famous artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Corgan and Travis Barker.

Guitar Hero World Tour delivers more ways to play than ever before. Virtual musicians can live out their rock and roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument in-game, or any combination of instruments within the game, in addition to the full band experience. Building on all of the online gameplay modes from Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero World Tour introduces Battle of the Bands mode, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to determine who is the best of the best. In the Band modes, up to four players can jam together, online or offline, as they progress through the game. In single-player Career Mode, players can jam on any of the instruments in-game utilizing the controllers in branching venue progression enabling them to rock out in the order of their choice.

The game’s innovative new Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch, utilizing all of the drum kit controller and guitar controllers, and then play their compositions in the game.

Guitar Hero World Tour for PC and Mac will be available summer 2009. si sale para mac mini va a ser solo guitarras bluetooth

Excelente noticia. me haz alegrado el dia ahora solo falta que tambien traigan el de metalica. yo quiero el world tour por la bateria que me pregunto si utilizara la de la 360 o que esa duda tengo ahorita. yo ya tengo la guitarra del 2 de 360 que es compatible con la pc. pero asaber como van a hacer con el nuevo world tour.
no se si las inalambricas seran compatibles con el receptor para pc ya que no tengo una guitarra inalambrica de 360. al rato la version de pc con instrumentos va a ser el mismo paquete del 360 con el receptor para pc incluido.

a ver si aclaran mis dudas en un futuro estos de aspyr.

PD: lo vergon del world tour de pc seria que minimo van a sacar un custom panel y van a sacar charts custom para baterias cantadas y guitarras. (la cantada es lo que menos me interesa)

Aspyr Media struck a bad chord with its PC port of Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock last year, a competent translation that had strangely sluggish performance even on high-spec machines. The company is hoping to right the wrongs with its PC version of Guitar Hero World Tour, promising that the issues that plagued Legends of Rock will be--like the New Romantic movement--a thing of the past.

This will all run smoothly, Aspyr says.


Aspyr plans to release World Tour in North America in June this year, and will bundle the game with one wireless guitar controller. An Aspyr spokesman told us that the PC version of the game will also be compatible with PlayStation 3 peripherals, so wannabe rockers can round out the band experience by buying separate PS3 drums (and an extra guitar). Any USB microphone will work with World Tour on the PC.

In terms of music content, the entire song list from the console versions of World Tour will be available, as will the online-play options. But though the ability to create your own songs will be included in World Tour PC, the GH Tunes store--the global service that allowed PS3 and 360 owners the chance to share and download other users' songs--will not be made available. And as of publication time, there was no confirmation as to whether PC players will also be able to buy new songs online.

As for performance, the Aspyr rep told us that World Tour will ship with the same minimum specs as Legends of Rock, which for their time were quite lofty. We had a brief bash on the PC using the drums on the Foo Fighters' "Everlong" and found no sluggishness whatsoever. However, we'll have to wait until we get more playtime to see how consistently smooth the game will be. Medio lo jugue en la version de ps2 y en verdad esta fumado ... ahora para pc,si me llegaria tenerlo,pero muy mamon de recursos aparte que tenes que comprar la guitarra para mayor comodidad

Ahi si estoy de acuerdo con vos,una guitarrita no caeria nada mal,porque con teclado no es muy ergonomico que se diga,y con respecto al los requesitos del sistema pues segun lei van a usar las mismas especs de GH3,pero falta que ver

bueno al menos ya especificaron cuando. esta interesante eso con que va aser compatible ahora con los instrumentos del ps3 pero espero que siga siendo tambien con los de 360.
ahora solo queda esperar y de que salga el de metallica va a ser cuestion de tiempo. si salio el aerosmith (q en lo personal no megusto mucho que digamos) el de metallica fijo sale. de todas formas me va a tocar conseguir la bateria.
