En mi opinión justo lo que necesita google para solventar el problema de "fragmentación" en los dispositivos android es trabajar de la mano con los fabricantes para su linea nexus 


Y pues hay rumores fuertes de nuevos productos nexus.

Para empezar se rumora un nuevo phablet nexus por parte de HTC

Five is a big number right now -- hard on the heels of the iPhone 5, we hear the giant HTC One X 5 could arrive as the Google Nexus 5.

The 5-inch HTC blower will sport a giant screen and it's a high-definition 1080p resolution job to boot. At that size, it's a rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note and the upcoming Note 2, whether it's released as the HTC One X 5, Droid Incredible X -- in the US -- or, as GSM Arena suggests, the Google Nexus 5.

Under the 5-inch screen is a rumoured Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 64GB of storage and a 12-megapixel main camera with a 2-megapixel video-calling camera on the front. Its also likely to offer 4G.

Like all Nexus devices, the Nexus 5 will pack the most up-to-date version of Google's Android software. In this case, that's set to be Jelly Bean 4.1.2.

The next Nexus will follow the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone and Google Nexus 7, the flagship devices for the latest updates to Android. Usually there's only one Nexus device at a time spearheading the Android line-up, but reports suggest that's about to change.

Word on the street is that Google plans as many as five Nexus tablets and phones -- but only Samsung, Sony and LG have been rumoured so far. If HTC does get the Nexus nod, it could be a return to form for High Tech Computers, which did so much to establish Android at the start but has slipped in popularity behind Samsung.

ADEMÁS HAY RUMORES FUERTES DE PLANES DE 5 TABLETAS Y TELEFONOS NEXUS

 

Google is planning not one but five Nexus phones and tablets, according to new reports. That's a whole line-up of sequels to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and the original Google Nexus One to show off the next generation of Android.

Previously Google has worked with one manufacturer at a time to build a Nexus phone for each new update to the Android operating system. But the next update, Jelly Bean, will appear on a range of five phones and tablets built as many as five partner manufacturers, to be released in the US by the end of November.

The next flagship Android phones would also be sold directly by Google, according to the Wall Street Journal. In the US the current flagship Galaxy Nexus is on sale from Google Play, the Android app market and online shop for movies and music. It's been a while since Google has directly sold a Nexus phone rather than through the usual shops and networks, which was the original plan for the first Nexus phone.

Buying a phone direct costs more up front, but is often cheaper in the long run and gives you the flexibility to choose any phone deal you fancy.

Each new version of Android is showcased on a flagship phone, given the Nexus moniker and untainted by any of the extra features added by phone builders and networks. The current version is known as Ice Cream Sandwich, which made its debut on the Galaxy Nexus last year -- yet Ice Cream Sandwich is still only on 5 per cent of phones.

Google is also rumoured to be preparing a Nexus tablet to show off Android on a larger screen. Asus is slated to build the Nexus tablet, despite Samsung's having built the last two Nexus phones and Motorola having been absorbed by Google. Google spent £7.6bn on Motorola, which built the Motorola Xoom, the first tablet to show off Android version 3.0 Honeycomb.

pues... talvez no sea muy cómodo de sostener... pero promete gigantescos avances.
En lo personal quisiera que fuera HTC, Samsung se limita demasiado en cuanto a tecnologia vs costo.

Sony no me parece buen flagship, he sido Sony fan toda mi vida hasta que comenzó la recesion en el 2007
y lo que discutiamos con Pollinsky el fin de semana, Sony tuvo muy buena tecnología e incluso un
prototipo funcional que pudo ser el primer Android (incluso corria mejor que las primeras versiones de Honeycomb
y Eclair siendo el promer OS de Sony en ser opensource).  La decepción llego cuando descartaron la linea
Mylo para concentrar esfuerzos en las lineas Xperia y PSP de las cuales el Xperia Play y el PSP GO son
producto.

Sigo resintiendo mucho esas desiciones y espero que HTC haga un mejor trabajo en
cuidar las progresiones de sus lineas mientras mantiene su innovación

Google ( GOOG ) y su socio de hardware ASUS se estaría planeando lanzar un nuevo tablet Nexus $ 99 este año, que podría abrir el mercado de las tabletas con un nuevo grupo masivo de los consumidores. El informe llega desde Digitimes , el jueves, y cita a fuentes anónimas de la industria para reclamar dos nuevas tabletas de Nexo se encuentran actualmente en las obras. El primero al parecer será una versión más delgada de los actuales $ 199 Nexus 7 y el segundo será un modelo nuevo de $ 99. A google lo siento sumamente interesado en desarrollar la linea nexus y si lo logra hacer van a pegar un golpe duro al mercado de tablets y celulares, la nexus 7 tuvo buena recepción y se rumorea una nueva con 3g.

Es cierto que estamos hablando de puros rumores pero la nexus 7 empezo puramente como un rumor y ya la tenemos. Se siente que viene algo grande con la linea nexus

Desde hace tiempo se escucha el rumor de un LG nexus pues es casi confirmado el nuevo telefono nexus "LG Optimus Nexus"

These Nexus rumors have really started coming out of the wood work this past week. This morning we saw an LG device pass through the FCC with AT&T bands on it and no LTE. It’s important we say “no LTE” because the LG Optimus G that’s headed to AT&T does have LTE, so we know its not the same device. This evening, Roger Cheng of CNET has posted the following about the LG Optimus Nexus:

According to a “person briefed on the matter”, the LG Nexus phone will be announced at the end of the month.

Now we’ve said in a number of posts we’ve done lately that Google could unveil Android 4.2 along with a new Nexus at the end of the month, since Andy Rubin will be speaking at a mobile conference known as ‘All Things D: Dive into Mobile” on October 29-30th. We’ve also heard some rumors that there could be a Google/LG event in early to mid-November to announce the new version of Android and the LG Optimus Nexus.

So it looks like the LG Optimus Nexus is just about confirmed. What about the other Nexus devices we’ve heard about? Like the HTC Droid Incedible X or Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 devices?

Google might soon launch a cheaper Nexus tablet.
The company is currently working with Taiwan-based Quanta Computer to produce a $99 Nexus tablet boasting a single-core processor that will launch by the end of this year, Digitimes is reporting today, citing sources. According to the tech-news blog's sources, the tablet isn't being developed in partnership with Asus, the company that helped Google build its Nexus 7. The cheaper tablet is, at least right now, separate from the Nexus 7 lineup.
Digitimes reported on the possibility of a new Nexus tablet last month, saying that Google was prepping a version that would cost $99, as well as another that would retail for $199. At that time, the blog indicated that the device would be called the Nexus 7 and would be developed in partnership with Asus. Its sources seem to indicate now that neither of those are claims are true.

It's no surprise that Google is seemingly working on improvements to its Nexus line. Apple yesterday announced that it will be holding a media event on Tuesday that is likely to showcase the long-rumored iPad Mini. That device, which will reportedly come with a 7.85-inch screen, is designed to take on devices like the Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD this holiday-shopping season.
CNET has contacted Google for comment on the rumors. We will update this story when we have more information.

Google anuncia un evento de Android para el 29 de octubre

Los rumores de un evento de Google para el 29 de octubre se han hecho realidad con el envío de una invitación para un evento en New York a los medios de la prensa para ese mismo día. Esta invitación no dice mucho, salvo que está en el formato que conocemos de Google Now y aparecen varios lugares de interés de la Gran Manzana.

La invitación menciona nos dice que “nos unamos para un evento de Android”, y que “el parque de juegos está abierto”. No sabemos, con esta información, qué Google nos pudiera presentar, aunque el Internet ha hablado de un próximo Nexus y una nueva versión de Android. El evento se llevará a cabo a las 10AM (hora de Puerto Rico) y, aunque se transmitirá en vivo por el canal de Android en YouTube

Lastimosamente se canceló el evento de presentación de los nuevos nexus  pero por lo visto google ya hizo el anuncio de los nuevos nexus 

Este es el link al blog oficial de android lastimosamente me lo bloquea el firewall del trabajo pero tengo entendido que anuncioron el nexus 4, nexus 10, nexus 7 de 32 gb y nexus 7 de 32 gb con 3g.

La verdad todo lo que se rumoreaba era cierto.

Los nuevos precios de la nexus 7 están paloma, $250 la de 32, $200 la de 16 y $299 la de 32 con 3g.
