Vizio tablets (10 y 7 pulgadas)
« : enero 07, 2013, 08:58:26 am »
Bueno para no crear dos temas que se vayan ambas tabletas en un solo topic

La primera es una tableta de 10.1 pulgadas con el nuevo chip tegra 4 y con una resolución de 2560 x 1600 que la pone a la par de la nexus 10. Además corre android 4.2 (tengo entendido que stock)

CES 2013 has not started, at least not officially, but the first media events already took place in Las Vegas. Android Authority attended the NVIDIA presser a few hours ago, and we have already shown you the hot new Tegra 4 SoC and the unexpected NVIDIA Tegra 4-based, Android-running Project Shield console/game controller.

But we’re certainly more interested in the first Tegra 4 devices that will be launched later this year, and it looks like Vizio will make the first tablet that will feature NVIDIA’s newest SoC – or at least it’s the first company to make public such a device.

The Verge had a sit down with Vizio officials and has more details about this unnamed 10.1-inch device. And it seems that Vizio is interested in making a hot comeback to the tablet business with a device that’s ready to take on the Nexus 10, at least on paper.

While it lacks a strong product name for now, the Vizio tablet will house the Tegra 4 SoC and run stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box, which is certainly interesting. Furthermore, the tablet will offer a high-end display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, which puts it on par with Samsung’s Nexus 10.

Other specs include 32GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi support, two cameras of unspecified resolution but what’s apparently really surprising about the device is that it’s a lot thinner than you’d expect a 10-inch tablet to be.

Pricing details and availability details are not official at this time, but we’ll certainly keep an eye out for them for you.

La otra es una tableta de 7 pulgadas con un quad core tegra 3 y android 4.1 stock (podría cambiar y tener un lanzamiento final con 4.2)

Once you’re done drooling over Vizio’s Tegra 4-powered 10-inch tablet, you may want to turn your attention to another tablet that Vizio has up its sleeve, a 7-incher that offers a pure stock Android experience.

Similar to the 10-inch cousin, the smaller tab has yet to be given a proper name. Here’s what’s known of the Nexus 7 competitor so far.

Talking to The Verge, Vizio said that its upcoming 7-inch slate with HD display will pack a quad-core Tegra 3 processor inside, and comes with 16GB of internal storage, 1.2MP front-facing camera, and – as mentioned – an untouched version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Note that the specs may change. Among other things, we might see the final build sporting Android 4.2 instead.

According to the company, the 7-inch device has been designed to use in portrait mode in order to cater to folks who use their tabs to read. Vizio has gone to great lengths to keep the size of the tablet compact enough for an easy one-hand operation, as it has the same form factor as the Kindle e-reader.

If this sounds enticing, you’ll have to wait until the 7-inch Vizio tablet hits the market in the “first half” of 2013 to get your hands on one. The price, naturally, hasn’t been shared yet – but knowing Vizio, we’re sure it’ll come with a very competitive price tag.
