Se está escuchando fuerte el rumor que por lo visto la siguiente versión de los postrecitos de google se va a llamar "Key Lime Pie" y será anunciado junto con el nuevo telefono nexus dentro de poco, posiblemente este mes.

In less than three weeks, Google’s current Nexus phone, the Galaxy Nexus, is going to turn one year old. That means we’re due for an upgrade. Back in May, The Wall Street Journal said that we’re going to see multiple Nexus smartphones launched during the holiday shopping season, but that rumor is now being challenged. According to Android and Me, Google is going to announce just one new Nexus phone this month. And the next version of Android, allegedly called Key Lime Pie, isn’t going to be version 5.0, but instead 4.2. Their server logs already show several hits from a device running Android 4.2, and while it’s easy enough to fake Android version numbers, we don’t think someone would go through all that trouble just to punk the Android community.

What do we know about this next Nexus? The three sources who spoke to Android and Me say the phone has already leaked. That could mean the Galaxy Nexus II, but it could also mean the LG Optimus G.

What do we at Android Authority think about all this? Our gut says that the next Nexus will be a minor update to the Galaxy Nexus. The next “major” version of Android will likely be shown off early next year because that’s when we can expect to see next generation hardware. By “next generation” we mean new chips that use ARM’s Cortex A15 processor such as the Texas Instruments OMAP 5. Qualcomm’s quad core Snapdragon S4 is going to start shipping in phones this month, but not in any meaningful quantities. It’s going to take a while for production to ramp up, so it makes sense for Google to host a major event in 2013 instead of this year.

Remember the first Nexus, the Nexus One? It was announced in early January. We could see a repeat of that sort of timing, and maybe that’s when Google will unveil this so called “portfolio” of Nexus smartphones.

Disculpen si el tema no es muy completo pero hasta ahorita son rumores (aunque fuertes) a medida que se vayan anunciando las nuevas caracteristicas del OS se ira modificando el tema para ser incluidas

Hay que aceptar que un nuevo sistema se ve un poco mejor siendo 5.0 a 4.2
Ademas no le veo sentido actualizar a un nuevo sistema aun cuando estamos tan faltos por explorar lo que es el ics y el jb, los cuales el jb recien salió al mercado.

pues se de muchos que a penas sale un nuevo sistema o una version nueva de una aplicacion  o un idevice o adivece  nuevo lo quieren inmediatamente

parece un poco raro , ya que hasta ahora muchos dispositivos se estan actualizando a Jelly Beam y me parece poco tiempo, pero como dices por ahí son rumores, haber que tal yo de momento no he probado ni el Jelly beam  , pero bueno todo cambio que sea para mejorar el sistema sea  bienvenido

The “Nexus News” continues to be rumors but, things are starting to heat up and it looks like Androidandme have gotten their hands on some juicy details on some of what’s to come in Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie. From features that improve battery life to the Nexus program as a whole there’s a lot going on here.

The news comes from the same source that spoke of a hands-on experience with the LG Nexus. There’s been more info surrounding what Key Lime Pie is going to feature and what it means for Android. Let’s take a look!

More Tweaks
Project Roadrunner

This added tweak is said to be less of just another tweak but more of a complete overhaul when it comes to Android’s battery life. There’s not a whole lot of details on Project Roadrunner but at the moment it’s sounding like it’ll mean big things for battery life. With phones like the RAZR Maxx becoming more attractive I can see why Google will double down on power usage. Remember Project Butter? Of course you do. This is said to do the same thing but for battery life.

Play Store Tweaks

Android 4.2 is said to feature the a refined Play Store that will come with the usual speed improvements but come with new features as well. Such as promotional campaigns within the app itself that will tie into notifications as well as more billing options and improved in-app purchases. I can’t wait to see what comes of any improvements to the Play Store and anything that makes it better for developers’ to get their stuff out to the users can only make for a stronger eco-system.

Google Now, Updated

There’s no denying that the latest search innovation from Google has become successful. It’s popular throughout the world and has already proven itself to be smarter than Siri. With more and more added everyday it looks like Google is set to make a real go of it with Now. It’s a sure thing that Google will want to perform a massive update to Now when Android 4.2 hits, especially as it’s become a major part of the OS for good now. If anything, Google Now has a lot of potential and to see it get even better. Tying in to more and more services across the web could be one way Google could take this to the next level.

Updated Video Player

Google has long needed a better video player. Whilst there’s nothing particularly wrong with it, what does it do besides playing video you have stored locally? That’s all it does. It’ll open mp4 streams etc from the web but it doesn’t really tie into any services. With 4.2 however, Google are said to be revamping the app to tie into more on the web and to make the app do a whole lot more than it ever has done. APIs will be on offer for developers to bolt their apps into, making the video player a lot more flexible and geared towards multi-use. This could be the start of a media streaming service from Google.

Pick a Nexus, Any Nexus

There’s long been word of multiple Nexus phones hitting the market by the end of the year and there’s been a lot of evidence surface in the last few days to suggest this. The rumor is that any manufacturer will be eligible to release a Nexus device and that they don’t necessarily have to have Nexus in the title of the phone. Manufacturers that wish to enter will have to adhere some fairly obvious hardware requirements. They’ll have to make sure that their phones support the following:

NFC Support
Stock Android
Updates from Google
Support for Google Wallet
Enough power for “Nexus Games”
Whether or not “nexus games” is the codeword for an upcoming gaming service from Google is unknown but, I’d like to bet that it is. I don’t think they’d call it Nexus Games either as this would alienate pretty every other partner under the sun.

The Customization Center

I really don’t know what to make of this one. The rumor goes that Google will allow manufacturers to throw in their own custom UIs for users to put on top of their Nexus. I can’t see Google welcoming people to mess up the way Android looks however, what does sound more plausible is that the new feature will become a hub for people who want to change things up a little bit without an involved process. For instance, wallpapers, icons and ringtones all from one simple UI. This would be fairly ideal as well, as malleable as Android is you often have to go each app in turn to get stuff done.

There’s another part of the rumor that states if manufacturers have their UI in the Center and Android upgrades, the UI will go back to default settings or the user will wait until both the Skin and Android are available together. I don’t think Google will want to push anything like this, no matter how much people like TouchWiz.

El rumor mas interesante es sobre que google esta trabajando en una especie de certificación "nexus" mediante el cual cualquier fabricante puede elaborar un producto "nexus" (aunque no necesariamente lleve el termino.

El fabricate debe llenar algunos requisitos como que tenga android stock, especificaciones de hadware suficientes y google se encargará de las actualizaciones.


De ser algo así me encataría

Parece que ahora se lanzo una nueva actualizacion 4.1.2 ya probe en mi nexus 7 y tadabia no aparece seguire a la espera pero creo que ya habilitaron el landscape




 

Update #1: 4.1.2 has already started rolling out to the Nexus 7, though mine doesn't see it yet.

Update #2: Since I mentioned seeing 4.1.2 with this very build number in the server logs, I'll throw in the devices that I saw running it, in addition to the Nexus 7 (this doesn't mean the updates for them are out now, but rather a good indication of what's to come):

    Nexus S (though with JZO54H)
    Galaxy Nexus
    Xoom

Update #3: Per the update notification on the Nexus 7, Android 4.1.2 "improves performance and stability and fixes bugs." Not too helpful, but it's a start.

Update #4: Looks like we finally have launcher landscape mode on the Nexus 7!

Al fin ya tengo la actualizacion lo mas relevante es el landscape y las notificaciones que ahora se pueden expandir con un solo dedo manteniendo presionado la notificacion y arrastrando hacia abajo se expande y hacia arriba se contrae.

También me llama la atención que el robotito en sus primeras versiones sale triste, pero con cada evolución sale cada vez mas contento, sobre todo a partir de ice cream sandwich en donde android se empezó a ver bastante bien como plataforma ¿Sugiere que key lime pie va a ser bueno?

Pues con cada versión le agregan varias cosas y hacen el sistema cada vez es mas fluido, no le veo sentido quedarse explorando ics si jb lo han optimizado aun mas. Y si la nueva versión es aun mejor no veo sentido de quedarme en jb.

Todas las mejoras que le hacen a cada postre de Google esta bien, lo malo es que no todos se actualizan por la falta de atencion de los fabricantes para estar bien con los usuarios..... Aun a la espera que LG lance ICS para Optimus Black :S

En eso si tenes toda la razón eso es lo unico malo 

Por suerte eso no sucede con los nexus 

Y pues con otros telefonos si sos travieso con el tiempo salen custom roms

es una referencia a la evolucion del hombre... no es que antes era menos feliz por eso es que empieza agachado...
