Bueno aprovecho para abrir este tema acerca de una distro muy influyente en el mundo linux: Debian
. El objetivo de este topic será que se vaya actualizando con información de la nueva versión Debian 7 "wheezy"
Debian a diferencia de muchas distros linux se caracteriza por no tener nuevas versiones tan seguidas como por ejemplo Ubuntu o Linux mint que tienen una nueva versión cada 6 meses. Si no que por el contrario cada nueva versión es lanzada "cuando esta lista" y no tiene un estandar de tiempo. Esta filosofia le ha creado la reputación a Debian de ser uno de los Os más estables en el universo linux. Esto lo pueden ver en las siguiente graficas:
Como la siguiente versión será lanzada aproximadamente hasta el 2013 significa que este topic tendrá bastante vida por delante, hasta el día del lazamiento, aunque es probable que no se actualize por mucho tiempo.

Bueno sin tanta cosa les dejo la primera noticia sobre "wheezy"
La primera noticia es que uno de los objetivos en la nueva versión sera el soporte de multiarquitecturas. Es decir soporte tanto para arquitecturas 32 bits como 64 bits. Todo esto de conformidad a la filosofia de Debian de ser un "Sistema operativo Universal". En fin los dejo con la noticia
Debian 7 'Wheezy' to introduce multiarch support
During this years annual Debian Conference DebConf11 made the
introduction of "multiarch support" a release goal for the coming
Debian release 7 "Wheezy" to be released in 2013. Multiarch is a
radical rethinking of the filesystem hierarchy with respect to library
and header paths, to make programs and libraries of different hardware
architectures easily installable in parallel on the very same system.
"Multiarch is a major enhancement to Debian's ability to deliver on
the promise of being a universal operating system" explains Steve
Langasek, driving force of the implementation, "not only will it make
crossbuilding easier, but also enables better support for legacy
32-bit applications on new 64-bit installations and in the future will
even allow live migrations from 32-bit to 64-bit systems."
